Oaxaca Rug Project 2019This year Art Division began the Oaxaca Rug Project.
Teotitlán del Valle is a village east of Oaxaca City known for its weavers. Six of our students have had their designs woven into woolen rugs as part of our Oaxaca / Art Division exchange. These rugs are hand woven by Jerónimo and Josefina Hernández who have collaborated with world renown artists for over 30 years and whose family have been at the center of the Teotitlán weaving community for centuries. |
