For Art Division's third bookbinding workshop we partnered with Housing Works and instructor Joel Freeman to produce a zine. Housing Works is an LA based organization that seeks to end homelessness and provide lasting support for those living with housing precarity. An essential aspect of their work is enrichment through art. Provided with short autobiographical essays from the writers of Michael Kearns’s Housing Works writing workshop, our class of four students , illustrated the writing. For our final workshop session, students learned a simple bookbinding stitch and together assembled 150 zines for Housing Works to share with their members and supporters.
