The format of this print is that of lotería cards, a game associated with Mexico.  The artist based the standing figure with crossed arms on that of his father at the age the father would been when he immigrated to the U.S. Accompanied by a backpack and jug of water for the trip, the figure is proud and determined. Neutralized by its association with a card game, the title, nevertheless, refers to stinging epithets, shamefully used for immigrants from Mexico.
